Our technology resources are growing! The Internet Computer Lab remains a popular evening class that familiarizes students with the basics of navigating the Internet and accessing the vast resources on the World Wide Web. In this lab, students are learning how to use online computers as powerful tools of educational research. Once they have had the opportunity to experience their environment first hand in the other classes we offer, they are then able to pursue a greater understanding of their world by researching further on the Internet.
The Internet Lab challenges students to locate information on the World Wide Web that is pertinent to the subjects that they are studying during their time at the RLC. They are taught how to use a web browser to navigate the Internet, and are then given a scavenger hunt, which provides them the opportunity to research a number of areas that may be of particular interest.
Objectives: Students will be able to...
1. Use a web browser to navigate the Internet.
2. Demonstrate an understanding of the Internet by completing a scavenger hunt which requires the use of a number of online skills.
3. Locate information on the Internet which enhances their understanding of other curricular areas at the Regional Learning Center
